I knew what I wanted, it was all a matter of being willing to do what It took, no matter the pain, the sacrifice, the time and the effort. I knew it wouldn't , and couldn't possibly be easy, my mind was set! I can't tell you how I didn't give up many, because I did give up more than once but I was tired of that! Many of you asked me how I stayed committed. I took it one day at a time, I was so hard on myself and i was strict every single day. But I made it and I survived, and the struggle was worth it, but the outcome is priceless! Don't let it take you so long to realize your worth it' stop feeling sorry for yourself  like I did  at one point . Food will always be there but your health will not don't live a life of regret for some simple moments of pleasure be strong and live long.

LOSING FAT IS BETTER THAN LOSING WEIGHT?

My own challenge made this happened for me, I'm so happy I gave this a try. I gave myself  jump start in losing weight naturally, what i love about my diet plan is that its all natural no stimulants or caffeine or risky weight loss pills. "My advice to all woman of all ages tired of being overweight"


The biggest piece of advice I can give anyone is to keep going, I've been on this lifestyle change for almost one year now. I have lost weight and gain weight back more than once, &:I understand. Fall in love with yourself and your body! I know it gets depressing when you gain weight again, trust me it know. You will doubt the process. However you must keep going! It's the only way you will get to where you want to be.


Stop wishing and start living your own weight loss journey! I've been there lived the struggle of being overweight, of being bullied and unhappy, of being depressed, being insecure of myself and self conscious, overcome those obstacles and I can help you overcome them too. It won't be comfortable, it wont be an overnight solution, and it certainly won't be easy, but I can guarantee you the end result will be PRICELESS!!

Remember it is unsafe to drop weight quickly and even more dangerous to gain it back quickly. Avoid the "yo-yo" dietary syndrome. Try your best to eat sensibly. Always be aware of what you are putting into your body. "Embrace your Curves"

If I don't feel confident about my body, I'm not going to sit at home and feel sorry for myself and not do something about it. I would never give up on eating my favorite  foods. As long as i eat moderately, and eating smaller proportions will help cut down the amount of food i eat everyday. Drinking water & losing weight!

Well for two whole weeks, I diligently drank 16 ounces of water before almost every meal. (Whenever my husband saw me drinking my water, he'd say, "So, I guess we're eating in a half hour?" I said" no let's start dinner. There were a few occasions when it seemed totally impractical, like when I went out to dinner. Given the fact that you usually have to wait to be seated and again for your meal to arrive, it would've been tough to time my preload precisely 30 minutes before eating. So instead, I just preloaded before I left the house. But either way, I noticed the difference in how full I felt while eating. Once you get used to it you start eating less all on your own, you start getting full with small portions of food. And you will see how better you start feel and say goodbye to constipation and bloating! You will gradually see the change in your body and the pounds melting off.



Usual questions??

I don't know about you, but I remember how much I hated diets. I couldn't deal with counting calories. Actively trying to trim my portions or cut back on dessert usually just makes me want to eat more. I remember didn't like to drink water...so I started adding freshly squeezed lemon , that helped alot then after I got used to the taste and stopped the lemon.




Than I started thinking:
What would happen if I tried chugging water without making any other changes to my diet? Would I eat less without feeling deprived? Would I lose weight? Or would I just be running to the bathroom every 20 minutes? 


But all the hard struggle paid off, and now I feel and look great, im a mother of 5 beautiful kids and people always ask me, tell me whats your secret?? To be fit after 5 pregnancies ..? Lol..  I really do have 5 children people don't really believe me' i have; 1 girl, 4 boys, and i tell them there's no secret, I stated drinking lots of water and eating less, smaller food portions is the key of losing weight fast! I also started donig research online, about dietary supplements, and I found so many!  I finally understood nutrition and diet better. My way of diet plan helped me lose weight while sculpturing my feminine curves, & for me that was the best part! KEEPING MY LATINA CURVES ON FLEEK! AHA YES! AMAZING RITE!

Healthy Lean Tacos

For today's taco healthy recipe we will be doing a combination of lean ground beef and ultra-lean ground turkey breast makes a less-greasy filling. Please bypass taco-seasoning packets! We are trying to do something with less sodium (salt)

                                    | Ingredients |
  • 8 ounces 93%-lean ground beef
  • 8 ounces 99%-lean ground turkey breast1/2 cup chopped onion1 
  • 10-ounce can diced tomatoes with green chiles, preferably Rotel brand, or 1 1/4 cups petite-diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground chipotle chile, or 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Roman lettuce to replace the tortillas
  
                                  | Preparation |

Place beef, turkey and onion in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Cook, breaking up the meat with a wooden spoon, until cooked through, about 10 minutes. Transfer to a colander to drain off fat. Wipe out the pan. Return the meat to the pan and add tomatoes, cumin, ground chipotle (or chili powder) and oregano. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until most of the liquid has evaporated, 3 to 6 minutes.

How I lost 47 pounds!! My experience.

Weight loss is a process, and maintaining your weight loss is your final goal. Diet, health and fitness are your responsibility. The following information is designed to provide healthy eating suggestions based upon my personal experience in my weight loss journey. I'm NOT in any way a nutritionist or professional, I could simply tell you what worked for me.

Choosing the correct weight loss plan or dietary supplement can be really tricky when it comes to catchy phrases outside the box. Thats why I decided to make this blog to share with women and men my personal experience, and to show you tips of what help me lose 47 pounds.

I remember while suffering from obesity at a very young age i felt so unhappy and after I had my 5 kids i got even more heavy. I also remember going up on a scale and reaching 189 lbs at my heaviest! I felt like such a loser, I would always cry when it came to trying on nice clothes when shopping, clothes never fit right. With time i began drinking medication for my severe depression and I would eat alot due to anxiety. I remember trying so many different dangerous pills to lose weight but I never found anything that could help me lose the weight and keeping it for good!              "How to start monitoring what you eat"


I recommend you start tracking your food intake if you aren't already. I know that is not fun to do, but from my experience, it is too easy to "forget" the amounts we eat, but your body never forgets.
Eating every 3 hours in moderate portions up to 5 times a day can be the key to losing weight rapidly. Planning and or preparing meals ahead of time is the best thing you can do so you don't end up eating fast food last minute.

Look out for Sugars and salts that can be found in foods or drinks. When shopping for food, make sure to read the ingredient labels carefully to avoid ingesting hidden sugar & sodium.


 "Cultural pitfalls"
As a Latina we have many cultural foods in our heritage most of them are filled with carbohydrates, and just to name a few; tortillas, rice, beans, potatoes and sweet breads. Now that can be tempting! You don't have to give up on  your favorite food, as long as you do it in a moderate way.



                     "Choosing healthy foods"
       It's all based upon the healthy food pyramid


  • Make smart choices from every food group
  • Find balance between food and physical activity
  • Get the most nutrition out of calories
  • Stay within daily calorie needs

The best way to remember healthier eating is making new eating habits, don't think of it as a diet, think of it as a way of changing the way you eat, and changing your old eating habits.


I like to use the 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 method
5- 1/2 cup servings of fruit and vegetables per day
4- servings of legumes, nuts or seeds per week
3- daily servings of low fat cheese,
2- servings of fish per week
1- multivitamins daily

                              "Physical activity"
This simply means movements of the body that uses your energy. You can perhaps get involved with some groups of people wanting to achieve the same goal as you, for example there is Zumba, this give you a boost on motivation. Some of us don't have time, but we simply have to make time, remember you must be dedicated  and try your best! I know there's work, school, throughout the day but you can find some time to go walking, jogging, pushing a baby stroller, climbing stairs, playing soccer, dancing, swimming, bicycling, and hiking.

  2. Bicycling (fast 10-15 miles per hour)
  3. Swimming (free style laps)
  4. Aerobics
  5. Speed walking & stroller pushing (4 miles per hour)
